Designing For a Cause
Project Description
Interactive Figma app prototype design for the non-profit Japanese Friendship Garden of San Diego. Mixing a passion for Japanese language and culture with the drive to design for human-centered user experience.
I created an initial project solution in 2023, however, I am currently working to revamp the UX/UI to improve readability and hierarchy.
Project Problem
At the time, the existing app, while it communicated the necessary information, needed an update in UX and visual design.

2024 redesign
My initial high-fidelity interactive Figma app prototype for the Japanese Friendship Garden of San Diego from 2023.
Project Solution
My role as the designer was to create a Figma prototype that displayed an alternate design system, along with cohesive layouts and components.
I expanded upon the organization’s color palette and displayed information in a more digestible manner, using more icons and imagery.
Future Considerations
If I were to revisit this project, I would create more components and build up more page layouts. I would love to add more features where donors could contribute to the organization, and I want to explore more iconography. Lastly, I would tighten up my text leading.
